When a person passes away, their Estate enters a process known as Probate. In Probate, the individual’s assets and property are identified and verified, creditor claims against the estate are identified, and taxes against the estate determined.
If the individual had a Last Will and Testament or other Estate Documents that affect the Estate, these documents will be disclosed and executed in accordance with the language of the Last Wil and Testament and other Estate Planning Documents.
Even if a person has a Last Will and Testament, each state allows a specific period for legal claims to be filed disputing the Last Will and Testament. In the State of Florida, that window is 90 days, unless a Formal Administration has been filed prior to the Will being admitted into Probate, which reduces the window to 20 days.

Ms. Soto was awarded her Bachelor of Arts Degree in International Relations from the honors program at Rollins College, and graduated Magna cum laude.
